We finally decided it was time to move on and begin exploring the lakes now that the sun had decided to keep us company. Our 1st trip was out St. peters inlet and across West Bay to a little cove west of Marble Mountain. The trip was about four hours and we had a nice breeze so we had a great sail tacking across the bay until our wind died around 1700 hrs. Clark's Cove is a real gem which reminds us of a scene out of on golden pond, absolutely stunning. We anchored in 10 feet of water with only one other boat in the cove and got a great set 1st try. Wow it was great to be back in the lakes and especially great to be back in Clark's cove after a ten year absence. We had engine issues the last time we were here in 2005 and had to get towed back to Dundee marine for repairs. Stewart and Alain were the gents that towed us back and our daughter developed a friendship with Alain and they continue to be best friends today, isn't it great how a negative can turn into a positive, Joyce says things sometimes happen for a reason and our engine issues in 2005 was a great example. Wow I am starting to ramble anyway back to current times. The other boat was an American sailboat with a nice rowing dory. WE had a fantastic evening with a nice meal and some red wine in the cockpit awesome, awesome, awesome the Bras D'or Lakes are a magical place. |
