Baddeck was made famous as the home of Alexander Graham Bell. Bell conducted a lot of his experiments with flight on the frozen lakes during the winter. He moved to Cape Breton for its clean fresh air that he felt was best for his wife Mabel. The Bell museum in Baddeck is a must and is as much about the love story between Alec and Mabel as it is about his invention's. Alec and Mabel were accepted into Baddeck as locals and this became a real home for them. Their estate Bein Breagh is still there today and can be seen from the water as you come int Baddeck.
With the sail past over it was time to get anchored and head in for the wine and cheese party at the yacht club. The wine and cheese party is the major event of the summer for the yacht club so they really out did them selves. They had a nice tent set up with entertainment on the wharf and all kinds of excellent food (no cheese though:) which I found hilarious for some reason. We had a great time at the wine and cheese party, lots of friendly people and the entertainment was awesome (the lady who was playing had served us at the Mellow Cello yesterday). Time to head back to Rose Lee and relax, what a nice day with some fun and adventure. (the starter is now on my list of things to sort out). We had a pretty relaxing evening and planned on moving Rose Lee to a new anchorage tomorrow.
