Today we were planning on heading over to St.Peters, however Marble Mountain was only about 4 miles away and not too far out of our way so at 1100hrs we decided to swing by for a swim since it was such a nice day. Marble Mountain was established in 1871 and was mined for Lime and Marble eventually the Lime mine brought a lot of commercial success and the village thrived. Today the Village is still there and there are a few houses and a little provincial park. The beach at Marble mountain is white sand and the water is nice and clear. The water is deep and you can bring the boat in and anchor 30' from the shore. Today there were a few boats and a few families enjoying the beach. We had a great swim and really enjoyed relaxing with the laughter of the kids playing on the beach in the background. After a few hours of fun we pulled anchor and headed to St. Peters. The wind came up to 13knots and we sailed until we reached the channel to St. Peter's and proceeded under motor through the Channel. We were a little melancholy heading over to St.Peter's it was cloudy and beating down the eastern shore tomorrow and then back to work on Monday:( We arrived back at the marina in St.Peters around 1800hrs to find a concert going on on the hillside of the marina nice. We went ashore and took a walk up town and had dinner at the local pub which was pretty good. I ran into Cameron on the docks who we had last spotted in Canso, they had been doing some sailing and and were heading to Whycocomagh, Cameron invited us to join them but unfortunately we were heading in the opposite direction Cameron related that they had had a pretty nasty trip from Liscombe to Canso the same day we made the passage (very rolly). We said our good byes and returned to Rose Lee for a quiet evening aboard. Tomorrow we would lock through back into St.Peter's bay and head across Chedebucto bay for Canso.
